Bills can dump the majority of Fitz' new contract

Whether Zoysia decides he's the lengthy-term future at quarterback might be irrelevant. Chan Gailey already stated openly the Bills were prepared to grab a franchise guy when the right quarterback was there this year, and it is possible they'll perform the same factor again this year (at this time they are slated for that 17th overall pick) and merely use Fitzpatrick like a bridge.

So here's some (potentially) great news for Bills fans: Zoysia can apparently bail from the majority of the quarterback's contract when they choose to move ahead after 2011.

Based on Mike Florio of Professional Football Talk, the debts could simply be responsible for $13.22 million of Fitzpatrick's deal when they choose to cut or trade the quarterback prior to the seventh day's the 2012 league year.

That's $3.22 million in base salary for 2011 along with a $ten million signing bonus, that is relative peanuts in comparison towards the potentially costly boo-boo the debts made when the Fitzpatrick contract would be a mistake. Although, per Florio, there's lots of non-guaranteed profit Fitzpatrick's contract, there's even the few a $5 million option bonus to complete Fitzpatrick around the seventh from the 2012 league year.

As my guy Pete Prisco noted in the grades on Monday, the debts might regret giving Ryan Fitzpatrick a completely new contract worth nearly $60 million, thinking about he's gone within the tank since filling out the deal, by having an embarrassing 35-8 loss to Miami the reduced point on the once promising season.
